Hi,
If you go to your ESX host and click configuration -> Storage Adapters -> Do you see your SATA/SAS controller? If there is nothing there (vmhba0 usually) then you are missing the driver for your SATA controller/raid card. This is likely why you cannot see your 512GB SSD.
